New Mexico

This weekend Ariana and I flew to Albuqurque, NM for Jessica and Nico's wedding. We had a great time and Ari was such a good girl on the plane. We even got a compliment from another passenger on the way home that she was so well behaved! It helped to have Andrea and Jenny entertaining her on the MSP leg of the flights!

We got to NM late Thursday night so hit the sack right away when we got to the Kirtland Air Force Base (the base Jess is stationed at). We stayed in the temporary living quarters so we were spoiled with our own kitchen (high chair included) and even our own bedrooms!

Friday we went out to breakfast with the crew and did some visiting at Jessica's house. Later we took the tram up Sandia peak to look at the amazing views. Ari had to get bundled up since it was 34 degrees with somewhere around 20mph winds at the top.

On Saturday, we started out with a road trip through the mountains to Los Alamos, where Andrea's brother has an internship at the nuclear research site that gave birth to "Fat Man" and "Little Boy," the first nuclear warheads used by the US on Japan in WWII. It was actually quite interesting and cute little town, again with amazing views. Here Ariana is posing with one of the exhibits. Of course I didn't bother to remember who the statue is of. He doesn't look like a war criminal so I think we're okay.
